An Act to amend the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (temporary resident visas for parents and grandparents). Royal assent June 22, 2023 (S.C. 2023, c. 19). Conservative private member's bill sponsored by Kyle Seeback (MP for Dufferin-Caledon). Extends the maximum validity of the IRCC parent-and-grandparent super visa from two to five years per entry, allows holders to extend their stay by up to two more years without leaving Canada, and lets the Minister designate additional medical-insurance providers (previously only Canadian-based providers were accepted). Aimed at making it easier for adult Canadians to host their parents and grandparents from abroad for longer periods.
