Act respecting Quebec national integration
Quebec's PL 84 (Act respecting Quebec national integration) is the CAQ government's signature 2024 statute on integration of immigrants into Quebec society. Replaces the previous Quebec integration framework with a single Programme d'integration nationale du Quebec emphasizing French-language acquisition (through expanded Francisation Quebec), Quebec civic values education (under section 1 of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms), and proactive employment-integration services. Sets binding French-language proficiency benchmarks for new permanent residents and creates the role of Commissaire a l'integration nationale. Required immigration-related provincial regulatory adjustments under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration of 1991.
