An Act respecting Lebanese Heritage Month
Lebanese Heritage Month Act. Royal assent June 22, 2023 (S.C. 2023, c. 18). Senate public bill sponsored by Senator Jane Cordy (Progressive Senate Group, Nova Scotia). Designates the month of November each year as Lebanese Heritage Month in Canada. Recognizes the contributions of approximately 220,000 Canadians of Lebanese descent (per the 2021 census), one of the older established Arab-Canadian communities (significant migration began in the 1880s, especially to Nova Scotia and Quebec). Symbolic recognition bill.
