Declares the Chignecto Isthmus dykeland system, which protects the rail and highway link between Nova Scotia and the rest of Canada, to be a work for the general advantage of Canada. Under section 92(10)(c) of the Constitution Act, 1867 this brings the works under federal jurisdiction. Aims to clarify federal responsibility for the roughly $650 million in upgrades needed to protect the corridor from sea-level rise. Passed third reading in the Senate.
