Erin O'Toole is the former MP for Durham (Ontario), elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2015, 2019, and 2021. Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada from August 24, 2020 to February 2, 2022 (defeated in a caucus vote under the Reform Act). Won the 2021 federal popular vote but did not form government. Previously Minister of Veterans Affairs (2015) under Stephen Harper. Before politics he served 12 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a navigator and was a corporate lawyer at Procter & Gamble. Resigned from the House of Commons July 31, 2023; appointed to the Privy Council in 2024.
