Adam van Koeverden is Minister of Sport and Physical Activity (since July 26, 2023) and MP for Milton (Ontario), elected in 2019. Before politics he was a four-time Olympic medallist in sprint kayaking (gold at Athens 2004 in the K-1 500 m), Canada's flag-bearer at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and a CBC sport broadcaster. He has prioritized federal support for community-level sport infrastructure and equity initiatives in coaching and officiating.
