Obby Khan is Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba (since April 26, 2025) and Leader of the Official Opposition. PC MLA for Fort Whyte, first elected in a March 2022 by-election succeeding Brian Pallister and re-elected in 2023. Before politics he played seven seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2004-2011), winning a Grey Cup in 2007, and later opened a chain of restaurants in Winnipeg. Won the PC leadership over Wayne Ewasko on the first ballot. As Opposition Leader he has focused on the Manitoba Hydro debt, hospital wait times, and the rural-municipal infrastructure gap.
