Marc Tanguay is the Quebec Liberal MNA for LaFontaine, first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Before politics he was a lawyer at Lavery in Montreal, and he later served as the party's parliamentary whip and government whip. He twice served as interim leader of the Quebec Liberal Party: from November 2022 until Pablo Rodriguez won the 2025 leadership race, and again after Rodriguez resigned in December 2025 amid a party-financing controversy. Charles Milliard was acclaimed leader on February 13, 2026, and Tanguay returned to his role as an Official Opposition member.
