Eric Girard is Minister of Finance of Quebec (since October 18, 2018). MNA for Groulx, elected in 2018. Before politics he was a senior executive at the National Bank of Canada and head of fixed-income trading at the Bank of Canada. As Finance Minister he has tabled seven Quebec budgets, including the 2023 indexed tax-bracket changes, the 2024 Quebec response to federal capital-gains-inclusion-rate changes (later rescinded by Carney), and the Quebec Pension Plan-Régie des rentes integration with Service Quebec changes.
