Brenda Bailey is Minister of Finance of British Columbia (since December 7, 2022). MLA for Vancouver-False Creek, elected in 2020. Before politics she was a tech entrepreneur and co-founder of Deep Fried Studios, a Vancouver gaming company. Previously Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation (2022) under John Horgan. As Finance Minister she tabled the 2023, 2024, and 2025 BC budgets, including the elimination of the BC Employer Health Tax for small businesses, the 2024 BC carbon-tax indexation, and the response to the federal 2024 capital-gains-inclusion-rate increase later rescinded.
