Nate Horner is President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance of Alberta (since June 9, 2023). MLA for Drumheller-Stettler, elected in 2019. Before politics he was a fourth-generation Alberta rancher and Director of the Alberta Beef Producers. Previously Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development (2022-2023) and Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction (2019-2022). As Finance Minister he has tabled three Alberta budgets including the 2024 personal-income-tax reduction on the lowest bracket and the Alberta Pension Plan Information Act framework (Bill 38 of 31st Legislature) that effectively paused the proposed CPP withdrawal pending a 2027 referendum.
