Simon Jolin-Barrette is Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Quebec (since October 18, 2018, longest current tenure of any Quebec Justice Minister). MNA for Borduas, elected in 2014. Before politics he was a lawyer in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. Previously also Government House Leader (2018-2022). As Justice Minister he tabled Quebec's Bill 21 (state laicity, royal assent June 2019), Bill 96 (French Language Charter modernization, 2022), and the 2024 modernization of Quebec's Code of Civil Procedure.
