
Mickey Amery is Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Alberta (since June 9, 2023). MLA for Calgary-Cross, elected in 2019. Before politics he was a Calgary criminal-defence lawyer. Previously Minister of Children's Services (2022-2023) under Jason Kenney. As Justice Minister he has overseen the proposed Alberta Provincial Police Service (Bill 102 of 31st Legislature), the Alberta Crown Prosecutor expansion, and the provincial response to the federal Bail Reform Act of 2023.
