
Tim Halman is Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Nova Scotia (since August 31, 2021). PC MLA for Dartmouth East, first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021 and 2024. Before politics he was a high-school social-studies teacher in Halifax Regional Municipality for two decades. As Environment Minister he has led the Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act implementation (53 statutory targets including 80% renewable electricity by 2030), the regulatory response to federal Clean Electricity Regulations, and the provincial review of the Goldboro LNG and Bear Head LNG project proposals.
