Pascal Berube is PQ MNA for Matane-Matapedia, first elected in a 2007 by-election and re-elected at every general election since. The only Parti Quebecois MNA from outside the Greater Montreal region after 2018. Served as Interim Leader of the Parti Quebecois from October 2017 to October 2018 between the resignation of Jean-Francois Lisee and the leadership of Pascal Beaulieu. Before politics he was a chief of staff to PQ minister Nathalie Normandeau and a regional development consultant in eastern Quebec. Has focused on regional economic development, the Gaspesie wind-energy file, and ferry-service rural infrastructure.
