Brittny Anderson is the BC NDP MLA for Nelson-Creston, first elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Before politics she served on Nelson City Council and worked in non-profit affordable-housing development across the Kootenays. As of the November 2024 cabinet under David Eby she serves as Minister of State for Local Governments and Rural Communities, with responsibility for the BC Growing Communities Fund and the Northern and Rural Local Government Action Plan. Has been a vocal advocate for forest-fire wildfire resilience funding for the BC Interior.
